Victorian 1st Essex Engineer Volunteers Officers Sword in good condition, this was a short-lived Volunteer unit – 1861–1871 only. Regulation brass hilt with quality decoration, chequered pommel and black fish skin grip bound with gilt wire. The slightly curved blade in super condition etched with Royal Engineers with cannon and wings plus 1 EEV all against a floral background. Maker marked E Woods and Sons London complete with black leather scabbard with matching gilt mounts.
