US Ames Model 1861 Naval Cutlass

US Ames Model 1861 Naval Cutlass date stamped 1861 on the ricasso plus Ames Mfe Co Chicopee Mass on the reverse. Brass half basket riveted to knuckle guard with leather grip bound with twisted brass wire. The blade single edged and slightly curved and complete with black leather scabbard with brass mounts and sewn with rivet to end made in the style possibly a later replacement.
