Tranter Patent 54 Bore Double Trigger Revolver second model retailed  serial number 3649 T With blued octagonal sighted barrel engraved with sprays of scroll work at the breech and a band of foliage at the muzzle, blued border and scroll engraved top-strap with retailers name Wilkinson Pall Mall cylinder with matching serial number, blued frame engraved with scroll work and bead work borders, bright hammer, trigger-mechanism and rammer peg-mount, blued arbor-pin, arbor-pin-catch and sprung hammer-safety, finely chequered figured walnut butt, foliate and scroll engraved grip-strap and butt-cap and bright scroll engraved detachable patent rammer with fixed head all marked Tranter : James Wilkinson & Son had premises at 27 Pall Mall from 1829 to 1852.
