Spanish Left-Hand Dagger – Main Gauche

Spanish Left-Hand Dagger or Main Gauche in the transitional form but with heavy armour piecing blade. The steel hilt curved with line engraving and curved over on the edges to increase the strength and small holes which I assume where for securing leather liner. The pommel highly decorative again with line decoration and raised button tang. Straight quillons with flat floral ends match the top of the tang complete with wire bound grip and thumb rest to rear. The blade with raised central fuller to form diamond section is engraved with WERCKE and what looks to be a date but worn the reverse with IACMHV again worn overall length 18.5 inches the blade 13.5 inches and 1.25 inches in width at the widest point
