Sinclair 16th Century Saber other names include Dussagge or Sinclairsabel,the hilt made up of intertwining bars forming the guard and thumb ring. The shell guard supported by an S bar with the hilt terminating with a chiselled large dome pommel. The grip wire has been replaced at some point however nicely done and finished with Turks heads. The flat sided wide blade with two top fullers leading to the enlarged double-edged point, struck with maker marked Anton Scheuch of Dresden with a serpent bladesmith’s markfrom the Dresden Rustkammer, Germany please see image, overall length 96cm the blade 79cm please note very slight movement between hilt and blade.
