Scottish Bollock – Kidney Dagger late 18th early 19th century transitional formed grip made of wood with age wear to surface please see images. The blade double edged has been cleaned but does so traces of age patina, overall length 12 inch the blade 7 inch Notes: The hilt was typically carved from a single piece of wood with two bollocks or lobes where the grip meets the blade hence the name, however the Kidney Dagger is the polite name introduced by Victorian historians who found the original name too vulgar for their taste.
