Italian Venetian Schiavona c 1740 in untouched condition with broad flat double-edged blade with central short fuller struck with makers mark to both sides, blackened characteristic iron basket-hilt of flattened bars engraved with floral designs. Inner thumb-ring, long curved quillon, solid steel pommel and original leather-covered wooden grip which shows age wear, overall length 39 inch – blade 33 inches
