Highland Basket Hilt Sword c 1740 good solid basket with traditional heart and dot decoration with the side guard being replaced with S shaped bars each side linking the centre points of the side knuckle guard and the rear guard. Original fish skin grip bound with twisted wire. Straight single edged blade with top fuller and marked each side with running fox and S H No damage and hilt and blade tight overall length 96cm blade 82cm for reference please see Culloden The Swords and the Sorrows page 36
