French Horseman’s War Axe

French Horseman’s War Axe, straight square section beak with tapering axe gead with pieced decoration 2 inches in width at the cutting edge. The head is finished with what seems to be mask of the Green Man and chiselled floral decoration and a stepped belt hook. Circular shaft 16.5 inch in length leading to a spiral grip again with excellent decoration, the top flange with raised langet form pieced with a Fleur De Lys design. Overall length 24.25 inch the width of the head 10.5 inch
