Composite Main Gauche in 17th Century Style

Straight 15 inch blade single edged with single top fuller, the ricasso with thumb depression and scalloped rims below two open ring sword breakers and struck with maker’s mark on one side. Steel hilt comprising long, straight twisted quillons with ball tips and triangular guard; flattened ovoid pommel. Steel wire-wrapped grip with wire turk’s heads and in set copper strands. Described as composite because the hilt looks to be original however the blade could be a Victorian replacement. Overall length 22 inches
