British St Georges Rifles Officers Sword. A rifle corps was formed in the parish of St George Hanover Square in 1860. After a number of name changes it became the 6th Middlesex St Georges Volunteer Rifle Corps. In 1892 it merged with the Victoria Rifles to become the 1st Middlesex Victoria and St. Georges Volunteer Rifle Corps. Regulation sword with steel hilt detailing Victorian crown and slung bugle. The blade in very good condition engraved with St Georges Rifles and St George slaying the dragoon the reverse with slung bugle and floral decoration and marked Hills Broths London. Complete with steel scabbard with two loose rings
