British George 5th Officers Sword

British George 5th Officers Sword regulation hilt with fish skin grip secured by wire, GRV crown. The blade etched with GRV and crown plus floral decoration. Possibly the sword of Colonel Philip Ralph Davies-Cooke as it was obtained via the Gwysaney estate. He gained the rank of Captain in the 5th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers Territorial Army. He gained the rank of Colonel in the Yorkshire Dragoons Yeomanry, He held the office of Justice of the Peace for Flintshire in 1923 He held the same office for the West Riding in Yorkshire in 1933 He also fought in the Second World War . He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant of the West Riding, Yorkshire And also High Sheriff of Flintshire in 1949 complete with matching scabbard
