British 1822 Officers Sword by Wilkinson – Maj G Balfour

A British 1821 Infantry officer’s sword with regulation brass. VR to center of hilt with fish skin grip and stepped pommel. The slightly curved blade is in good condition and is well etched both sides with VR below Victorian Crown with floral decoration, proof mark and maker marked Henry Wilkinson London. The sword is early pre Wilkinson numbering so unable to confirm the purchaser this sword however it was previously purchased directly from the family of Major G Balfour, it is complete with brass mounted leather scabbard.
