Black Watch WW1 Field Officers Sword by Wilkinson 38” overall and a 32” straight broadsword blade with narrow fuller & spear point, engraved with GR V cipher to one side & ‘Black Watch Royal Highlanders to the other, with scrolling thistles, Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London & numbered 43549 on the spine. With pierced steel bowl guard of Royal Engineers 1858 pattern, as carried by Scottish staff officers of The Black Watch, Seaforth Highlanders & the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders. Fish skin grip with twisted steel wire. In its field service pattern scabbard which does show age wear. Wilkinson No 43549 – Entry dated 7th May 1912, Black Watch pattern. Sold to A.H.O. Dennistoun, Black Watch.
