1796 Light Cavalry Officer’s Sword

1796 Light cavalry Officer’s Sword regulation steel stirrup hilt and remains on the fish skin grip however securing wires still intact. The blade curved flat back with single fuller and hatchet point. It is finely etched with Britania WARRENTED in scroll trophies of arms and mounted hussar. Plus the Royal cypher of MARIA Queen of Portugal, it is possible the sword was made for an officer of the Portuguese Cacadores regiment attached to the Duke of wellington during the Penninsular War.
Complete with matching scabbard with two loose rings. Please note the hilt and scabbard have age pitted however the blade is stunning
