1796 Heavy Cavalry Disk Hilt Sword by Osborn and Gunby, Georgian trooper’s sword it has a steel hilt with a pierced disk guard which has been cut which was common practice at the time to stop damge to uniforms, eared back-strap with a ribbed leather covered grip and knuckle guard, straight blade with inspection mark and the spine maker marked Osborn and Gunby, 87.5 cm – 34.5 inches in length complete with its steel scabbard with two loose rings.
