French 10th Regiment Officers Epee c1814
Please click here to make an enquiry.
Epee 'A La Francaise' by IGB of Solingen and bearing the insignia of the 10 Regiment a Pied. The swords production appears to date to 1814 since the blade bears the regimental number and the Royal fleur de lys however this emblem has been removed from the visible part of the sword hilt. It is reasonable to suppose this took place during Napoleon's return from Elba for the Waterloo Campaign allowing the officer owning the sword to illustrate his allegiance to Napoleon. The 10th Regiment fought at the Battle of Waterloo where one of its Chefs de Battalion Ducos was wounded. overall length 99cm and with a 84cm blade.
