Pattern: Presentation Rifle Volunteer
Maker - Retailer: Heeley and sons Birmingham

Sword No: none

Blade: Slightly curved regulation with brass proof and makers name. Etched with Crown and slung bugle and floral decoration to the tip plus owner intials. The Presentation inscription as follows, Presented by the officers, non commissioned officers and privates of the 16th Lanark Rifle Voluneers H company Motherwell on his promotion to Major Robert Jack who commanded the company from its formation in 1867 till 1875 Please note the blade would have been plated originally as this is a presentation sword which is now worn however the engraving is deep and very visible.

Hilt: Excellent presentation quality hilt pierced to form floral design with crown and slung bugle. Matching back strap with fishskin grip wire missing. Shield to centre engraved 16th LRV

Scabbard: Plated steel in very good condition two loose rings and engraved with floral decoration to both sides.

Dimensions: 38 inches - 96.5cm / blade: 32  inches - 81cm
